Renovation of 13 Stores
Buildco Corp was retained by the property owner to perform extensive renovation and restoration work at the Bonwit Village Shops following a severe flash flooding event that resulted in approximately 30 inches of storm water inundating the entire shopping center. The project required a compressed two-month schedule to restore multiple tenant spaces and return the property to operational use. Through coordinated planning and efficient execution, the work addressed flood damage across all affected stores and supporting building systems.
Compressed-Schedule Flood Recovery Work
To meet the accelerated restoration schedule, Buildco Corp operated seven days a week for approximately two months to return tenant spaces to service and allow businesses to reopen as quickly as possible. The work included demolition and replacement of damaged materials, new sheetrock, flooring, ceilings, and interior finishes throughout multiple retail units. Renovated spaces included Commack Veterinary Center, The Pet Salon, Penguin Dry Cleaners, Hearing Plus, State Farm, AT&T, and Christopher’s Hair Salon. Close coordination with the property owner and individual tenants was required to sequence work efficiently and achieve timely occupancy across the shopping center.
